WHY TRAIN WITH PTD?

The training I teach isn't just theory.

I use these same foundations with my own dogs — including dogs who go on to compete in dog sports.

I've spent more than 10 years training dogs and their people, and I've seen first-hand how much difference those early foundations can make.

My aim isn't to create a puppy who can perform a perfect sit in the Training Barn.

It's to help you build a dog who can succeed in real life.

How old does my puppy need to be?

I don't make restrictions on ages in classes as puppies will meet dogs of all shapes and sizes and this is a foundations course not just specifically for puppies

Does my puppy need to be vaccinated?

Your vet will be best placed to advise you on this, I do not require to see your vacination card

What happens if my puppy isn't comfortable around other dogs?

We keep classes small and controlled, and we'll work with you to make sure your puppy can learn without being overwhelmed.

Will my puppy get to play with the other puppies?

Dogs & puppies should be kept on lead and not encouraged to interact with other dogs in the class, this is to help with recall and distractions further along in your training, there are some exercises where we will teach you and your dog how to interact with others, but there is no free play in classes

What happens after my first 4 weeks?

You have the option to continue attending the remaining puppy/foundations classes.

What happens if I miss a class?

Unfortunately if you miss a class, in most cases, you will not be able to make up that class. However you have access to the course material via the facebook group, the online course and you will receive your homework email with details of the exercises covered in class

What should I bring?

You should have your dog on a flat collar (or harness) and lead (no flexi leads or other aversive tools). You will need PLENTY of small soft treats (not your dogs regular food) and their favourite toy
